Welfare Projects
![]() The first Project which Sood Sabha Chandigarh undertook to render service to the Society was an ultra-modern Diagnostic Laboratory at Sood Bhawan, Chandigarh which was established in February, 2003 with the liberal donation of Rs. 7 Lacs made by Shri Kulbhushan Bowry of Bangalore in the memory of his wife Late Smt. Sudershana Sood. Shri Bowry is the first cousin of Shri Surinder Sood, General Secretary Sood Sabha, Chandigarh. All types of Bio-chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Urine and Stool Tests are conducted on “no profit no loss” basis. It is fully air conditioned and equipped with sophisticated and the latest computerized auto analyser. A multi-channel computerized ECG machine has also been added.
Retired PGI Doctors – Dr. Rajinder Kalra, former Medical Superintendent, PGI & Dr. M.L. Ratan former Head, Hematology Deptt., PGI, Chandigarh provide technical advice and guidance on honorary basis. The Sabha also established a Charitable Diagnostic Laboratory at Sood Bhawan, Panchkula on 23.2.2005 which is also equipped with the latest semi-auto analyzer. ECG facility is also available at nominal charges. The Diagnostic Laboratory at Panchkula was inaugurated by Sh.V.K. Sood, Chairman, Sood Sabha Chandigarh who has made donation in the memory of his father Late Shri Om Parkash Sood. Timings:
Daily ( Summer) 7 AM to 1 PM & ( Winter ) 8 AM to 2 PM. ![]() A Physiotherapy
and Rehabilitation Centre for the orthopaedically handicapped has
been established at Sood Bhawan, Chandigarh in the year 2003 with
the liberal donation of Rs. 1.8 Lacs given by Sh. Pran Nath Sood in the memory of
his wife Late Smt. Lata Sood. . Qualified Physiotherapists help the
patients at the Centre regularly. These facilities are free for the poor and the needy. ![]()
Another
Physiotherapy Centre equipped with the latest machinery was
inaugurated at Sood Bhawan, Panchkula on 15th April, 2007. It has
been established with the liberal donation of Rs. 1.25 Lacs by Shri Madan Mohan Langha who was
motivated by Shri Ashwani Doegar to make donation for this noble cause.
. Before the inauguration ceremony, Havan was performed which was
attended by prominent members of the Biradari. On this occasion several
office bearers and representatives of different organizations were also
present which included Senior Citizens Association, Brahman Sabha,
Ex-Servicemen’s Association and Residents’ Welfare Association. Mrs.
Santosh Langha wife of Shri Madan Mohan Langha and his son Sh. Anil
Sood lighted Deepshikha to inaugurate the Centre. Both these
Centres have proved to be of great help to the patients suffering from
various muscular and neurological problems such as rheumatoid
arthritis, osteoarthritis, cervical or lumbar spondylosis, frozen
shoulder, cerebral palsy, nerve injuries, sprains, strains, loss of
strength and movement after fractures and joint replacement surgeries.
Here is a brief description of the equipment available at these Centres:
The
treatment is provided at nominal rates. The Centre has been established
with the primary aim to reduce the pain of the suffering masses. A
dedicated Team under and qualified Physio-therapist provide the much
needed healing touch to the utmost satisfaction of the visiting
patients.
Homoeopathic Dispensary at Sood
Bhawan, Chandigarh was the first social project started by the Sabha in
June 2000. Dr. Sukhbir Chopra, M.D. (Homo) is Incharge of
the Dispensary is serving with dedication. The Dispensary has
become very popular in the area. Medicines
are given free of cost to the poor. Similarly, Sabha has opened a
Homoeopathic Dispensary at Panchkula Bhawan which has also become very
popular in the area.
The Sabha has opened Eye Clinic at Sood
Bhawan, Chandigarh which was inaugurated by Mrs. Anu Chatrath, Mayor,
Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh on 25th April, 2010. Dr. Sunandan
Sood, Prof. & Head, Opthamology Deptt., Govt. Medical College &
Hospital, Sec.32, Chandigarh presided over the Inaugural Function. The
latest Eye Unit has been installed and Dr. Neeraj Sood, M.S.(PGI)
will be the Consulting Surgeon. At the Clinic treatment will be
provided for Refractive Errors, Cataract Screening, Glaucoma &
Diabetic Eye Diseases etc. Medicines will be provided free to the
needy patients.
Though Science and Technology have
provided enough comforts and conveniences in our life, yet stress and
tension have become byproduct of the present age. The Sabha has
opened a Meditation Centre and Library at Sood Bhawan,
Chandigarh. The Centre was inaugurated by Smt.
Sushila Doegar, wife of Late Sh. Jagdish Ram
Doegar, former President and Patron of Sood Sabha.
We are holding free Yoga Classes
regularly at Sood Bhawan Chandigarh Every Monday and Tuesday, free
Reiki Healing sessions are held from 10 AM to 12 noon for general
